The Kyle Busch effect was something that was talked about and discussed by the NASCAR world as the two-time champion made his way from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing. There were talks of Busch really taking up the RCR brand to new heights with his on-track performances and his off-track brand value.

Almost halfway into the season, his on-track performances have indeed taken his current team to a new level as they are in contention for the checkered flag every week.

As for the Busch brand impacting RCR from a commercial point of view, look no further than what happened to one of his sponsors after he won in Talladega last week.

Kyle Busch on the “KFB Factor” after his Talladega win

As Busch took the checkered flag at the Talladega Superspeedway after the second overtime, his main sponsor for that race, McLaren Grills, faced a technical issue—in a good way. Their website crashed presumably from high traffic which was, again, presumably more or less because of what their guy did on the superspeedway in Alabama.

Now, a week from that, leading up to Dover, Busch was asked about his take on his sponsor’s website crashing because of his win.

“That’s the KFB factor,” he said. “No, that is what we are all hopeful for, right?

“You want to drive attention to the sponsors, and have the sponsors get that notoriety and getting people to check out their products and buy their products. Stuff like that.”

“We had some great steak and some hamburgers and stuff like that. So, it was a lot of fun to do that and to have them be a part of our weekend, our winning weekend in Talladega,” he described.

Rowdy added how it’d been 15 years since he got lucky for a win at the Dega, something he claimed “you have to have” every once in a while.

“It was unfortunate that we didn’t get the luck that we needed in Daytona, but it was nice to have it last week,” he claimed.
