For the 2021 Cup Series season, Kyle Larson has joined the Hendrick Motorsports team. Since then, he has been building up the number of personnel in his side of the garage. The latest person in the #5 stable is Chris Monez, though he will not be Larson’s spotter.

Monez joins the likes of Cliff Daniels, who will be his crew chief. Daniels was the crew chief of the #48 car for the past two years before he took over the reins of the #5 car. In essence, he is moving on from Jimmie Johnson to Kyle Larson, which isn’t a bad swap.

Kyle Larson will be eager to prove himself to the team

Obviously, an opportunity in one of the best NASCAR teams does not come very often. So, Larson is going to make sure that he earns that seat and prove that he deserves to stay. The 28-year-old had a topsy-turvy 2020 season that saw him booted out from his previous team midway through the season.

Since then, he has managed to redeem himself and the Hendrick team saw fit to give him a second chance. Now, Kyle Larson will be sure to make the most of this chance.

Without a doubt, he is a hugely talented driver with a few wins under his belt. Hopefully, he should be able to bag a few more with Hendrick Motorsports.

However, those wins will not come easy, as he has to contend with various strong opponents. The first of which includes his teammates William Byron, Alex Bowman, and reigning champion Chase Elliott.

Needless to say, Kyle Larson has his work cut out for him. Luckily, with Daniels and Monez in his box, Larson should be in good hands. This is because, given their experience, the Hendrick Motorsports crew chief and spotter are more than capable of guiding him.
