NASCAR ace and reporter Kenny Wallace hung up his helmet in 2015. He retired after a sterling 25-year run that began in 1988 and is no stranger to the thrill of victory. Fast forward eight years, and just yesterday, Wallace found himself stepping into the limelight once more, this time being honored with a spot in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

The 60-year-old shared the prestigious moment with none other than three-time MLB All-Star Adam Wainwright. It seemed like he was over the moon about snapping a selfie with the baseball legend, but the spotlight was equally on him. Fans flooded in with their warm congratulations, celebrating the 60-year-old veteran’s crowning achievement.

Hailing from a family of racers near St. Louis, Kenny Wallace’s roots trace back to Fox High School in Arnold, Missouri, where he completed his high school. It took eight long years post-retirement for high school alma mater to bestow upon him the honor of a Hall of Fame induction. However, putting that delay aside, a recent video shared by a sports reporter captured Kenny’s unbridled enthusiasm for snagging a selfie with Adam Wainwright and flaunting it on social media.

True to his word, Kenny Wallace did share a snapshot with Adam Wainwright, alongside other photos capturing the crowd, his family’s table, and a Hall of Fame picture in a collage. His caption beamed with joy: “Boy am I lucky 😆💯🕺🏁 Thank you @MoSportsHall.”

The excitement wasn’t just a spur-of-the-moment thing. A day earlier, in a video on his YouTube channel, Kenny’s anticipation was tangible. He expressed, “Tomorrow is the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. I’m so excited that I’ve been inducted into it. But the thing goes this, I’m going in the Missouri or I’m going into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame […] at the Chase Park plaza downtown St. Louis with Adam Wainwright.”

He continued, “Man, this is a Cy Young winner, one of the greatest pitchers of all time. And I’m super excited about it.” Fans, too, didn’t miss a beat, showering the former Xfinity driver with congratulations and well wishes.

One take at a time

Controversies, gossip, and breakneck speeds? Count me in! While F1 has its charm, NASCAR helps me relive those "Roadrash" gaming days. My favorite among the drivers has to be Tyler Reddick. The 23XI Racing pilot is not only likable but also a complete beast when he is on track, more specifically, road courses.
