It is already well known that Jimmie Johnson is retiring at the end of the 2020 season. However, he is not the only one, as 41-year-old Clint Bowyer is also set to retire from NASCAR racing. The only difference is that Johnson is still racing, but Bowyer is trading his racing seat for a commentary booth.

He had a good time joking around on a Zoom call with various Fox Sports journalists. He observed that they were all in various locations, like a recording studio, Victory Lane, a bathroom, and other odd places.

“I don’t know boys and girls, you’re not doing a very good job of convincing me that this is the right decision. I’ll be damned if I’m going to be doing Zoom calls for the rest of my life,” he said.

What is next for Clint Bowyer this season?

Admittedly, when the Bank of America Roval 400 concluded, he had a difficult time. He lost power steering with 45 laps to go, so he had to literally wrestle with the car. It got to a stage where he was drained when he stepped out of the car and slumped on the ground.

Owing to his physical condition, Clint Bowyer was rushed to the infield care center. His condition was so severe that he was excused from his post-race media obligations.

“I’m good,” Bowyer assured. “Was definitely out of gas. Another couple (or) three laps, and I’d have been on the ground after the race crappie floppin’. Self inflicted, I shouldn’t have knocked the power steering out.”

Hopefully, he won’t endure such difficult races again. However, everyone will be helpless in the event of a mechanical failure like that. This is why his race was a superhuman effort and he should be lauded. He will surely be looking forward to the remaining four races of the 2020 season.

Now that he is out of the playoff race, he has nothing to lose. He can gun for a win or two, starting with the coming race at the Kansas Speedway.
