Dale Earnhardt Jr talks about the sale of his favorite NFL team

Reportedly, the deal racked up to a staggering $6 Billion, setting a record as the priciest sports team acquisition worldwide. In response to this development, Junior chose his podcast as the platform to air his sentiments.

Speaking about the sale, Junior, in his Dale Jr Download podcast, stated, “So the commanders (Washington Commanders), the sailors official, my favorite football team in the NFL, Mike, has been sold… I thought, you know, I’m not gonna go on Twitter, and tweet up some b*llshit there or go on, Instagram and post some stuff. I’ll just say it here…” 

Furthermore, he began reflecting on the unexpected change. He continued to share anecdotes of the past, stating, “For the last 10 years, Dan Snyder (Daniel Snyder) and his wife have been incredible to me and my family...”

“Every week there has been an invite to every game. We have not missed, I don’t know how many years, Mike?. How many years have they been sending tickets to this office for us to come to home games? They’ve even invited us to away games. But every home game, we had an open invitation to go and be there…”

Adding, “I haven’t been to a game in three or four years. They kept sending invites. And we would tell them, ‘Hey, we had we were locked up in a race season…’ But they kept and don’t forget about us and they did it kept sending em.”

In the same episode, Junior shared more memories. He recalled numerous thoughtful gestures from the team. He also touched on a poignant moment when the team had dedicated time to honor his grandmother’s passing with a heartfelt tribute.

Junior elaborated, “I was put I was putting on a mailing list and would receive something every Christmas. Anytime there was anything going on with the team such as the rebrand, we received unique items and stuff in the mail. When my grandmother passed away, they planted a tree in her memory.”

“There was other things that they’ve done. I didn’t even know they knew about it… So I just want to say that while it’s tough to see the team struggle my experiences with Dan and his wife and the organization as a whole have been nothing but positive.”
