Shohei Ohtani is a pitcher and a designated hitter who has gained a lot of fame with the Los Angeles Angels. Ohtani is a player that many teams are eyeing to land, given his skillset and talent. Though there are numerous analysts out there giving their take, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr went on to pick his rival team as a landing spot instead of his beloved Dodgers.

While on the 95.7 The Game radio station, Kerr said, I believe [Ohtani} is going to be a Giant. As a Dodger fan, I want him to be a Giant… The rivalry is so great… I’m for drama, I’m for excitement… I actually mean it. I’m not trying to endear myself to the Bay Area fans.”

Before picking up basketball in high school, Steve Kerr was an avid baseball fan. He was a Dodgers fan growing up and would often go to ball games with his father and brother. Somehow, over the years, his love for baseball translated into a love for basketball, when he finally chose this career path.

As the Warriors head coach, Kerr would often use tactics and baseball-related analytics in basketball to get an edge over the opponents. In fact, Kerr even suggested that the NBA took inspiration from the MLB in terms of having a minor league as well.

The MLB has numerous minor leagues under them, with a substantial number of teams. That is something Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr suggested that the NBA should implement as well.

Given that the NBA does have its own G-League, it is only limited to one. If the league were to take inspiration from the MLB, there could be multiple minor leagues functioning under the NBA. This would not only generate more revenue but also give aspiring new players enough of a platform to showcase their talent.

It would also majorly help the teams in the NBA to scout players from all around the different leagues that would be functioning under it. Though it was a suggestion made by Kerr that hasn’t translated into anything yet, let’s see if his prediction does bear fruit.
