Stephen Curry is certainly not alone in his family with the basketball mindset, but is he the only one who holds an entrepreneurial spirit? Of course not, as Ayesha Curry keeps proving from time to time. From the several cookbooks she has released and her own ‘International Smoke’ restaurant chain, to managing her lifestyle and skincare brand ‘Sweet July’, fans have grown to marvel at the 36-year-old for her business mindset, alongside her obvious beauty and grace. Having been in the business game for a while, Ayesha is now embarking on a new journey with Michelle Obama herself, along with passing advice that could aid the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Back in late March, it was announced that ‘Plezi Nutrition,’ the company co-founded by the former First Lady, was launching a partnership with Stephen Curry through its new product: a sports drink named Plezi Hydration. Ayesha Curry recently highlighted specific moments of her interview with internet personality Issa Okamoto, in which she was promoting the Plezi Hydration Drink. The interview also served as a way for Mrs. Curry to share her own experiences when embarking on the entrepreneurial journey. Ayesha revealed that years of experience have taught her “That it’s ok to like, experiment and make mistakes and figure it out. It’s ok to fail. It’s ok to try again. It’s ok to pick yourself back up and move on”.

That is advice that could certainly help millions! After all, once people realize that failure is just a part of the process, they would be more inclined to strive for success. The Golden State Warriors star himself once said that “If you don’t fall, how are you going to know what getting up is like?” Whether it was Ayesha’s words or she simply wanted to highlight the product’s endorsement, the interview clip ended up on Michelle Obama’s Instagram story, too!

Along with investing in the product, the 4x NBA champion also reportedly helped with everything from the actual beverage to the packaging. Ayesha, meanwhile, helped with the creation and taste of the drink. After all, with the culinary background that Mrs. Curry possesses, why not use her helping hand? Upon the announcement of the partnership deal, it was also revealed that Plezi, which means “fun” in Creole, would be available in three flavors: lemon lime, tropical punch, and orange mango twist. Stephen Curry’s favorite flavor is reportedly the orange mango twist.

The Plezi partnership means a lot to Ayesha. As she herself revealed during the interview with Issa Okamoto, “I love when a partnership is truly collaborative. Point here is to like really implement innovation, and bring something different to the table. That is just downright delicious”. When working with a soul like Michelle Obama, one can expect nothing but a collaborative mindset and energized environment all around. However, initially, that was not all that attracted the NBA power couple to Obama’s nutrition brand.

Have an interesting take?

“As a father and professional athlete, I know how impactful good nutrition can be, on and off the court. PLEZi Nutrition’s commitment to making nutrition accessible and fun really resonates with me,” said Stephen Curry, when asked what inspired him to invest.

When Ayesha was asked the same question, she replied, “We were floored by the stats. Kids are consuming way too much added sugar—on average, 53 pounds of added sugar per year. Sugary drinks are the leading source of added sugar, and nearly two-thirds of kids consume sugary drinks on a given day! Kids deserve better, and we wanted to be a part of that positive change”.
