Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has been around elite athletes all his life. This has played a huge role in his massive success. Curry’s parents were basketball and volleyball players in college. And it seems that they have passed their traits down through generations. It looks like the next entrant into the sporting world from the Curry family is Steph’s 11-year-old daughter. She has followed her grandmother’s path and has picked up volleyball. Interestingly, her decision might upset her mother, Ayesha Curry.

Daughter of Stephen Curry steps into the sporting world

Riley, Canon, and Ryan Curry have some great idols in their household to look up to. Their father, Stephen Curry, is one of the greatest NBA players of his generation who has changed the game of basketball. However, his eldest daughter, 11-year-old Riley, will be following a different path. She has taken a keen interest in volleyball; the sport pursued by her grandmother, Sonya, in college.

For the most part, I’ve introduced pretty much every sport to all of them. But Riley, she’s super into volleyball right now, and a light bulb went off, actually this year, where she’s excited to go to practice and dribbling or passing the ball around the house and all that type of stuff“, said the 35-year-old according to Marca.

Riley’s interest might hurt her mother

As mentioned by Steph Curry himself, he and Ayesha have introduced almost every sport to their children. One of them happens to be an equestrian. During a podcast appearance four years ago, Ayesha Curry revealed she wants her daughter to be an Olympic equestrian!

“We are in the car the other day, she [Riley Curry] was talking about what she wanted to be when she grows up on the way to her horseback riding lesson. In the back of my head, I would love her to be an Olympic equestrian. Far-fetched dreams here but I think she can do it”, said Ayesha Curry on the Girlboss Radio podcast.

Interestingly, Riley was only 7-years-old back then! Looks like the Curry family is taking their children’s future careers very seriously.
