The Golden State Warriors hosted the Los Angeles Clippers at Chase Center in San Francisco, California. After the disappointing loss to the Sacramento Kings in the NBA In-Season Tournament, the Warriors put up a brave show. They won with 120- 114 on the scoreboard. With a list of some stunning performances, the Warriors registered an impressive victory. Point guard Brandin Podziemski brushed against Kahwi Leonard, which he described quite interestingly later.

20-year-old Podziemski bagged 8 points in the win. Later, he hilariously commented upon the foul he received after brushing against Kawhi.

As Kawhi attempted to score a basket, Brandin had slight contact with him, seemingly unintentionally. The referee decided to call it a foul. The decision made Brandin protest for several seconds. He went to the line, hopped up and down, and ran around, showing disagreement. Coach Steve Kerr’s reaction didn’t show any signs of agreement with the decision.

After the win, Podziemski during the interview shared some of his reflections regarding the match. He praised the one-to-one defense of the opponent team. He also laid bare the strategy his team employed in securing the win. While asked about the Kawhi foul, his answer made the interviewer burst into laughter. And of course, the internet. Brandin said, “That was my welcome-to-the-NBA-, guarding-an-All-Star moment.”

Though Podziemski took the decision lightly, refereeing in recent times has met fierce responses from Dub Nation.

The controversial refereeing against the Warriors

Refereeing decisions in recent times have not gone down well with The Golden State Warriors team and the fans. During the match against the Phoenix Suns, coach Steve Kerr and teammates criticized Chris Paul’s first-half ejection. Chris Paul event went on to accuse the referee Scott Foster of settling personal scores against him during the official NBA matches. Some analysts even quoted the statistics to support Paul’s claim of bias against the Warriors.

In its 123-124 loss against the Sacramento Kings, refereeing decisions again came to the center stage. There are many reasons for the Warriors being unable to clinch the win, including Steve Kerr subbing off Moses Moody. But Draymond Green, receiving a technical too, played a part. After Green received a technical in the fourth quarter, Kings marched forward with confidence and fury to steal the show in the final moments.
