After a tough start to the season, the Heat have picked up pace. On Wednesday, they destroyed the Cavs at home in a 129-96 game. It all, however, came crashing down for guard Dru Smith, who sustained a severe knee injury, that will keep him out for the remainder of the season. Further, this injury could’ve been easily avoided if not for Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Arena.

Close to the Cavs bench, there is a 10-inch drop from the court to the floor down below, which had been covered up by a piece of paper. Dru landed on the edge of the drop injuring his leg in a twisting motion. In the aftermath of this incident, the Heat raised their concerns about the court, and the Lakers’ Head Coach Darvin Ham joined in on the effort.
