The McDonald’s All-American game has been the gold standard for high school ballers trying to go pro. That’s precisely why the 7ft NBA Prospect Payton Marshall missing out on the current list was such a massive uproar among the fans and enthusiasts of the game. The nationally televised event is a preview of the upcoming generation of superstars and many all-time greats like LeBron James himself was a part of the 48-athlete roster.

However, many major players and Hall of Famers never featured in the elite high-school list. For instance, four-time champion and two-time league MVP Stephen Curry never made the list. Other future Hall Famers include several names like Paul George, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green also missed the elusive list. Many greats of the game, such as Allen Iverson, Ray Allen, and even Tim Duncan, never featured in the McDonald All-American game.

So, Peyton missing them isn’t as bad as is turning out to seem. Despite it being a huge opportunity for him the level at which he is progressing in the game, it is only a matter of time before he leaves many people on the list behind. Yet 6’9 sensation Cooper Flag also had an impressive showing, so no telling what will happen in the future.

Marshall was initially a nominee for the center position in the prestigious game, but he faced tough competition among numerous five-star recruits, ultimately not securing a spot despite his commitment to Missouri. However, being excluded from the game doesn’t diminish his standing as one of the top players in his class. Ranked as the 8th best center and weighing 300 pounds, Marshall is an unstoppable force in the paint, displaying an imposing post presence with no effective containment strategy.

That’s why his next step to the Missouri is going to be crucial.
