Nikola Jokić brought out an unseen face of Anthony Edwards after the Game 5 win. The Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t have an answer for the reigning MVP as he mauled them at the Ball Arena. Ant-Man, who is known for his cheeky arrogance and confidence in the post-game pressers, showed a new side to the reporters.

Speaking of Jokic’s dominating game, he said, “I just laugh. That’s all I can do. I mean, I can’t be mad. Because he’s good, man. … He’s the best player in the game … He was special tonight. I got to give him his props.” The Joker went on to create history by becoming the only second man on the planet to record a 40-pointer with 10+ assists in a playoff game. The first person to do it was the veteran point guard, Chris Paul.

Despite the pressure of climbing the huge mountain standing in front of him, Anthony Edwards passed jokes as he exited the building. Speaking to the Denver Nuggets locker room attendant, he said, “You jinxed us… See you (in) Game 7.

Keeping the last three games out of the way, Anthony Edwards rose to massive popularity in no time. He decimated the Phoenix Suns in four games, averaging 31 points. And he continued his business with the Nuggets as well. In the first four games, he averaged 33.6 points, stamping his authority on the league.

Speaking of Ant-Man, Charles Barkley said, “No disrespect… The MVP (Jokic) is getting outplayed. They don’t have advantage anywhere … That guy [Anthony Edwards]… That bulldog. He might as well be a damn wolf because he ain’t messing around.” It immediately backfired him as it worked only for the first two games.

Nikola Jokić turned back the clock and showed that he was still worthy of the MVP award. Metaphorically, he produced the historic stat line of 40-7-13 with 0 turnovers on the same night of receiving his 2023-24 regular season MVP from Adam Silver.

Will the Michael Jordan comparison still apply to Anthony Edwards?

From the start of the season, Anthony Edwards had sparked a social media frenzy where the fans have begun to compare him to the Bulls legend. He not only looks like but also resembles the great in terms of athleticism and attitude on the court. The comparison further solidified when decimated the Suns in the first round.

Interestingly, even Michael Jordan agreed to it. The veteran reporter, Chris Broussard, confirmed that MJ found similarities in their games. However, the Wolves’ recent slump took a dent in the comparison. Even Jordan’s former BFF Barkley also refused to compare him to the 6x NBA Champion.

Following the Game 4 loss, Chuck said, “Please America, please stop the Michael Jordan stuff. This guy has had one good playoff run. I think he’s going to be a great player.” And also shut down his partner Shaq when he questioned, “Is he close?” It’s indeed too early to compare a fairly young blood to MJ, who won six rings. But Edwards could take this as an opportunity to prove everyone wrong and win the next two games.
