Initially, there was optimism regarding Dre’s potential return. However, considering the severity of the injury, the 49ers officially ruled him out for the remainder of the game, making the announcement shortly before halftime. A key figure in the 49ers’ defense, Greenlaw had amassed an impressive 120 tackles during the regular season. Dre Greenlaw’s absence was keenly felt by the squad as the game unfolded.

The 49ers’ 10-3 lead quickly turned into a 13-10 deficit in the third quarter. As the fourth quarter unfolded, with just 2 minutes remaining on the clock, both teams leveled the score at 16-16, igniting a fiery climax to the game.
