Do you think the Memphis Grizzlies would’ve saved face if they didn’t endure what they did against OKC? That was definitely one of the most one-sided playoff series in a while. The Grizz made history for all the wrong reasons. But amidst a week of many lows- came one moment of repetition. Any guesses as to what that was? Yep- it was Ja Morant’s injury. It came at the worst time for Memphis, but their fate was written on a wall much before.

The Grizzlies had a 27-point lead in Game 3. It didn’t seem likely that they would lose that. But when Morant was undercut by Thunder forward Lu Dort on his way up for a dunk, it seemed like multiple vulnerabilities of Toumas Iisalo’s team were exposed. One of them being their dependency on Ja Magic Man, considering that the Thunder’s 29-point comeback is the second-largest in NBA playoff history in the play-by-play era (since 1997), and the 26-point halftime comeback is the largest ever in NBA playoff history.
