Stephen Curry reminiscing with Durant—Is this the most heartwarming NBA friendship we've seen?

Stephen Curry is definitely short of a trusted ally. After the exit of Klay Thompson, the Splash Brother is left all alone in the Golden State Warriors with Draymond Green. As the Dubs struggle to find a perfect second fiddle for Steph in the off-season, the superstar has reconnected with his former teammate, Kevin Durant. Amid Team USA’s intense practice camp, he found time to roll back the clock and reminisce about the gold old days alongside the Slim Reaper.

Team USA’s social media handle didn’t miss its chance to keep the fans busy with practice footage from the camp. Following the series of viral videos, they came back with a Stephen Curry special as he got miked up at the practice session. The video began with Curry having a moment with Durant, where he spoke about his daughter. He said, “I was a true volleyball dad for three weeks”.

“I went to every tournament. Sacramento, Dallas. Our AAU days back in the day like things have changed crazy but to see her in and out.” The Suns‘ vet listened to his former teammate’s words about Riley with a smile as he attempted shots from the perimeter. Moreover, Steph has really grown into a family man through the course of his career. Once in 2o15, the superstar surprised everyone when he brought his daughter Riley to a press conference for the first time.

Fast forward to nine years, Curry spoke visiting her volleyball games three weeks in a row. Times have changed really quickly for the superstar. However, one thing has definitely not changed for the Curry family. Everyone in the family has played a bit of sport.

Almost every hoops fan is aware of Dell Curry, Steph’s father, who played for the NBA. On the other hand, his mom, Sonya Curry, had also made a mark in volleyball as a collegiate athlete. However, let’s talk about the youngster budding Curry.

Stephen Curry’s eldest girl pursues her volleyball passion!

When Bronny James came into the limelight, the media already sealed that LeBron James’ eldest son would make it to the NBA. And rightly so, the LA Lakers picked him up in the 2024 draft. The hoop nation will witness a father-son duo on the court together for the first time in the league.

Similarly, when Riley Curry came into the spotlight, everyone expected her to pick the ball and follow in her father’s footsteps. But, she instead followed her grandmother. In 2023, speaking of Riley’s interest in Volleyball, Steph said, “I’ve introduced pretty much every sport, for the most part, to all of them.”

“Riley, she’s super into volleyball right now, and a light bulb went off, actually this year, where she’s excited to go to practice and dribbling or passing the ball around the house and all that type of stuff. So she’s found something she loves, and she’s passionate about it, and she loves to work at it.” At the same time, Steph added that she is too young and expects Riley’s interest in other sports may also blossom in the coming years.

So the legend has kept the tabs open for her. However, for now, he seems to be quite happy traveling to different places to watch his daughter play volleyball.
