The Dubs registered a win against the Houston Rockets by a 121-116 score line. The win was orchestrated by none other than Steph Curry. After missing a couple of matches due to a knee injury, Curry is back, and with what a tremendous display of form! He scored a blistering 32 points in the Warriors win.

However, a former Warriors legend is all praise for another Warriors star. Wonder who that is? You guessed it right – the best three-point shooter in NBA history. Klay Thompson, the five-time All-Star, impressed everyone with his brilliant gameplay. He scored 20-odd points, coupled with 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.

50-point game for Klay Thompson?

Chris Mullin, the Warriors legend, opened up after the Dubs’ match against the Hornets tonight. In a video shared by ‘Warriors on NBCS’ on X (formerly Twitter), Mully said, “Klay Thompson is going to have a 50-point game very soon.”.

He added, “So, Chris Paul is pushing the ball up the floor, looking for Klay Thompson. The other players need to look to screen him and get him open.” Given Thompson’s FT%, we cannot disagree with his point. He has mammoth average of 85.2% FT in his career.

A high scoring game is nothing new for ‘Big Smokey’. We surely did not forget his 60-point game against the Indiana Pacers in 2016. It is not anything new for him, and he undoubtedly has the capability.

Thompson needs to maintain his form consistently. He is dropping his form when the team needs him most. The game against Cavs where he scored only 14 is a prime example. He also unnecessarily got into a brawl after pulling McDaniels’ shirt in the Wolves game.

The Warriors’ loss against the Wolves was highly blamed towards Thompson and Draymond Green. Getting themselves ejected in Steph Curry’s absence was something that the Dubs didn’t expect from senior players like them.

Can Klay Thomspon emerge being the man for the Warriors in Curry’s absence? He is a senior player and he should definitely work towards it. The Warriors will rely highly on him if they need to clinch another championship.
