The New Orleans Pelicans decimated the Los Angeles Lakers in a blow-out 129-109 win. The Pelicans’ star duo Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson dropped 26 points each to give them a competitive edge. However, it was 25-year-old Jose Alvarado, who stole the show on the defensive end of the court.

The disappointment continued for the Lakers on the New Year eve’s game as well. The LA side only managed to win 2 out of their 9 games, and currently stand at the 9th seed of the Western Conference with a 17-17 record. Moreover, the team didn’t stand a chance despite King James’ 34 points with 8 assists. Let’s find out more about the Pelicans defense brilliance.

Even though three Lakers players scored above 20 points, it wasn’t enough for them to take the lead, as the Pelicans defense silenced the rest of the team. The Lakers bench, barring Austin Reaves’ 20 points, only scored 12 points.

The team registered 9 steals in the game and 4 of them were produced by ‘Grand Theft Alvarado’. And, most importantly, two of them were stolen from LeBron James.
