Duncan Robinson Leaves Behind Luka Doncic and Damian Lillard in Incredible Three-Point Record

January 7, 2021 9:36 am

All professional basketball players write their own unique stories in the league. They could either be a hyped-up recruit that is presumed to get all the stardom in the world or they could be a marksman having a late-blooming career. With so many different athletes, not many can match the journey Duncan Robinson has gone through. And now, playing with a top team of the Eastern Conference, he is already setting impressive records to prove himself.

Robinson’s route to the NBA has not really been the easiest. He started from a Division 3 college, then went to the University of Michigan, and was ultimately left undrafted.

However, today he is part of the Miami Heat. This is because of his consistency in making himself a better player and gradually climbing his way through the ranks.

From his debut season as an NBA player till now, his sharpshooting skills aren’t the only thing that make him a great player. In fact, it is his versatility that defines him. This is a man who can shoot, grab rebounds and defend.

Duncan Robinson already setting records

The Miami Heat had the most impressive season last year. Their run in the playoffs was unmatched in the East which ended up with them winning the Eastern Conference Finals. And finally, they made their way to the NBA finals, giving a tough competition to the Los Angeles Lakers until finally succumbing to their dominance.

Robinson played a vital role in their success. The way he created space for the team on the offensive end was an enormous asset for Erik Spoelstra. His production from the three-point range was also impressive and now he has touched another milestone.

According to Anthony Chiang, “Duncan Robinson just became the fasted NBA player to reach 300 career made threes. It took him 95 games.” He has surpassed Luka Doncic and Damian Lillard(117 games), Trae Young (123 games), and Donovan Mitchell (132 games).

The season has just begun and there’s still plenty more for Robinson and the Heat to achieve. Will the Miami Heat live up to the expectations they’ve set for fans? Or will they fall hard because of their slow start this season.
