Jayson Tatum and company have finally made it to the NBA Finals. The Boston Celtics struggled to win the East for the last 4 years but finally managed it this year. Not only did they win the East, but their journey to the Finals was a tough one. The Celtics played 2 game-7s in a row.

They defeated the reigning champs Milwaukee Bucks in the second round and edged out the Miami Heat in the Conference Finals. While their way to the Finals took quite a while, behind this success was the emerging player, Jayson Tatum.

Tatum has done the most for his team this postseason. The Celtics swept the Nets in the first round in which Tatum averaged nearly 30 points. JT and company would face two tough matchups next. The Bucks and the Heat, both took the Celtics to 7 games. Tatum did his best in these two rounds, averaging 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.

While he had done all he could to make it to the Finals, his performance seems a little off in the current round. Tatum averages 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists in the Finals versus the Warriors.

These numbers might seem low compared to his previous performance, but it doesn’t hold his team back. Jaylen Brown and Al Horford have had their shares in the first few games.

The Celtics are currently down 2-3 in the series. The upcoming game 6 will be a win or go home for Boston. They were down 3-2 versus the Bucks in the second round and managed to hold them off. Fans are expecting a red hot performance from the 24-year-old. Tatum and company will have a chance to force a game-7  yet again in their backyard.

In the last 5 games, the Celtics have performed much better in the second half. They have great shooters, including Pritchard, Grant Williams, and Horford. An efficient shooting early in the game will be the key to victory.

If the Celtics can manage to win the next two games, they will have the most titles in the NBA history. Boston currently has 17 trophies. The 18th will set the record and mark the new generation of players. It will be interesting to see what the Celtics have for the Warriors in game 6 of the NBA Finals.
