The NBA has become a league where superstars are joining forces in order to bolster their title chances. Be it the duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James for the Lakers, or the duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the Clippers, the league has seen its fair share of great partnerships. The latest duo is of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving for the Nets.

KD and Kyrie haven’t played with each despite being in the team for a year now. They will start their campaign against the Warriors on December 23.

6-time All-Star and Suns’ legend Amar’e Stoudemire joined Steve Nash’s coaching staff recently. Stoudemire in his recent appearance in All The Smoke podcast claimed that the duo of KD and Kyrie is the best ever that he has seen.

2-Time NBA Champion Reacts to Stoudemire’s Comments

Ex-Lakers Power forward and Klay Thompson’s father, Mychal Thompson, scrutinized these comments. Thompson took to twitter and mocked Stoudemire as he named multiple iconic duos like Kobe and Shaq, Magic and Kareem etc.

It’s very early days to judge how good the duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will be. They looked good in the limited minutes they played in the preseason game against the Washington Wizards.

If they do perform to their full potential, there is absolutely no stopping the Nets in the Eastern Conference.

Can Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant Lead the Nets to their Maiden title

When the Brooklyn Nets brought in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in the 2019 off-season, they suddenly became a team which was in the fringes of the playoffs to instant favorites for the title.

The Nets this season see the return of both the beasts from long injury layoffs. There are doubts surrounding Durant, especially given that he is returning from an ACL injury. The 10-time All-Star looked fit though in their first preseason game.

But a preseason game might not be the best parameter to see whether Durant is back. The Nets’ game against the Warriors is a must watch and it will be interesting to see how Durant performs against his former team.

Kyrie looked sharp with his handles and also scored 18 points in just 17 minutes on the court. The duo showed immense promise in their preseason game. The Nets will hope that they can replicate the same in the regular season.

The Brooklyn Nets look like an intriguing specimen, and with two superstars like Durant and Irving- they are the team to beat. If one of their younger players can step up, and the superstars perform to their best, the Nets can surely win the championship.
