The defending champions, Golden State Warriors, have been struggling to find their groove on the road. The team suffered their 11th straight away loss during the Saturday night game against the Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies. Moreover, a Grizzlies star further added salt to the wound by taking a dig at Dubs star Klay Thompson during the game. However, Thompson channelized his inner Kobe Bryant to deliver a fitting reply to the Memphis player. However, fans were not so impressed by the Splash Brother’s gesture.

The recent performances of the Warriors have left the Dubnation in utter disbelief. The team seems to be missing a trick in their away games. Notably, the Dubs carry a poor away record of 7-29 this season. Even franchise star Stephen Curry failed to drop even a single 3-pointer in the fourth quarter against the Grizzlies.

Thompson brings back a Kobe Bryant response

The Warriors, sensing their defeat, benched the Splash Brothers with 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies’ rising star Dillon Brooks screamed from his bench to take a dig at Thompson. Brooks shouted, “You Suck,” at the Dubs star. However, the 4x NBA Champion didn’t utter a word but mimicked a Kobe Bryant iconic gesture.

Back in 2014, when Bryant was witnessing a Lakers game from the crowd, a fan heckled the star. There isn’t any clarity on what the fan said, but Bryant responded to the fan by counting the number of rings he won.

Similarly, Thompson counted four rings and mocked Brooks for not having a single one. Even though the Dubs star’s response looked fitting, it did not impress the fans. They swarmed the Instagram comments section, mocking the star for his gesture. One user said, “Klay countin his rings… & his road wins.” Following are some reactions from NBA fans.

“2 rings because of KD, and 1 because of injuries”

“He was counting their road wins”

“Kobe did this better”

Warriors’ frustrating loss

The Dubs managed to keep the Grizzlies’ lead under 7 after the third quarter. While the fans expected Curry to fire in the last quarter, as usual, the Dubs superstar failed to find his form. The Grizzlies capitalized on the moment with a massive lead, leaving Dubs no chance to recover. Currently, the Warriors are the 7th seed in the West with a 36-36 record.
