James Harden and Steve Nash Reveal the Real Problem with Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets’ biggest fear is seemingly turning into a reality. They have massive offensive power, but many predicted this super team will struggle on the defensive end. While it was just a speculation in the beginning, James Harden and the Nets proved their doubters right.

The Cavaliers completely outplayed the Brooklyn Big 3 in two stunning back-to-back victories. What’s more surprising is the fact that they had the worst offense in the league prior to facing off vs Brooklyn. But they didn’t let that stop them from mauling the KD and Harden led side.

In the post game media conference, James Harden admitted to the franchise struggling on the defensive end of the floor. He said:

Honestly, our problem isn’t offense. We scored a 113 points tonight and even last game was more than enough to win a game. I think defensively we have to be more engaged and we have to round up more stops consecutively. Offensively we’re not worried at all, it our defense.”

Along with Harden, head coach Steve also admitted his team is having problems being consistent while defending opposing players. Nash stated:

I don’t want to overreact. But it is something that we have to continue to chip away. We have to build that resolve, that hunger, that desire to win some hustle battles… We gotta lot of things to work on, it’s a lot to clean up… You know I won’t overreact but we are gonna urge the guys to clean up as much as we can.”

Offense hasn’t been a problem for the Nets for the majority of the season. Unfortunately, Kevin Durant‘s absence weakened their attack tonight. Although Kyrie Irving and James Harden scored a combined 57 points, their bench struggled to find their groove.

It is still early in the season, but the Nets need to reevaluate themselves right now. Otherwise, it will be too late to do damage control in the second half of the season.
