Among the various stars on the Los Angeles Lakers roster, LeBron James is undoubtedly the undisputed leader. The fans, media, and former players too, expect LeBron to lead the Lakers in their pursuit of NBA titles. LeBron has led the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat in the earlier stages of his career. However, a former NBA player called out LeBron for his supposed lack of leadership.

Former NBA star Kwame Brown reserved some harsh words for LeBron James and the Lakers. The video posted on Twitter, shows Kwame berating LeBron and the Lakers for their horrible form. He simultaneously recalls the no-nonsense leadership that Kobe Bryant provided to the Lakers.

Kwame said, “So they keep this storyline of the Lakers which is really not a storyline—they suck. He added, “That’s some of the stuff, man RIP Kobe. One thing about Kobe is he didn’t do the type of friendly shit with you after a loss like that. When he sees you again, your a** better be on the court. You better not be in the training room. You better not be getting your ankles taped.

He added, “You a** better be out there shooting some shots, or Kobe going to be on your a**. That’s what I think the Lakers are missing. They’re missing that leadership.” Kwame played for the Lakers between 2005 to 2008.

He played alongside Kobe, who spent 20 years at the Lakers. Unfortunately for Kwame, his stint at the Lakers remained unfruitful, as he never won an NBA title with them. The Lakers won an NBA title the very next season after Kwame’s departure.

Kwame’s video surfaced after the Lakers’ 95-108 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. LeBron scored 20 points in that loss. He joined the Lakers in 2018.
