The passing of John Madden, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, shocked the entire sports world on Tuesday. A number of basketball players and the NBA world joined the NFL community in mourning the loss of such an eminent personality. Despite Madden’s retirement from the world of football commentary in 2009, his legacy and impact on the NFL never waned during his career, both as a coach and as a player. LeBron James, who grew up playing the Madden franchise, shared a short but impactful message on Twitter as a tribute to Madden.
