Former Boston Celtics player Bill Russell is arguably the true definition of a legend in the NBA. The sports world took a major hit when the NBA GREAT passed away in July 2022. Russell was 88 years old at the time of his death and had left behind an incredible legacy that hardly has been able to find its match in the league. To honor the 11x NBA champion, Netflix will be releasing a Bill Russell documentary on February 8 and the trailer is already winning hearts.

In the 2 minute-long trailer, several NBA superstars commemorated Russell by recalling the Celtics legend’s stellar career in the league and his philanthropic works outside of it. Six back-to-back championships as a player, two championships as a coach, and a 4x NBA rebounding titles are a few of the achievements Russell accomplished during his career. He is also the first player in the league’s history to win back-to-back NCAA championships and NBA championships.

Furthermore, Russell was a stalwart in fighting systemic racism in the country. The adverse conditions the Celtics legend had to fight through to win his 11 NBA chips paved the way for the younger generation to prosper.
