The Golden State Warriors have caught the attention of the NBA fraternity in a negative light over the last few days. The four-time NBA champ Draymond Green was involved in a physical altercation with his teammate Jordan Poole during practice on October 5. The two players were involved in some verbal attacks before the fight escalated to pushing and shoving. However, things got really heated when Draymond took a swing at Poole and punched him. While the Golden State Warriors review the whole incident, Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert recently took a dig at Draymond Green, reigniting their beef.

Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green are two of the best defensive players in the NBA. Gobert has three Defensive Player of the Year awards while Green has one. Green has made it to the NBA All-Defensive First team four times while Rudy Gobert has achieved the feat six times. Hence, they are often compared with each other.

Rudy Gobert hits back at Draymond Green

The Warriors’ power forward has been quite clear about being compared with the former Utah Spurs center. His comments led to a beef between the two. Gobert also responded to Green’s comments and deemed it as ‘noise.’ Gobert averaged 15.6 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game last season in 66 appearances. Meanwhile, Green averaged 7.5 rebounds, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game in 46 appearances in 2021-22.

Rudy Gobert has seemingly reignited his beef with Draymond Green with his recent tweet. The three-time All-Star’s four-word tweet seemed to be directed toward Green’s recent altercation with his teammate Jordan Poole. Gobert wrote“Insecurity is always loud.”

Many fans believe that the French athlete was talking about Green’s insecurities, leading to his violent behavior towards his teammate.

Rudy Gobert has been an unshakable rock in the defense for the Utah Spurs since 2013. His ability to score rebounds at the same time makes him quite dangerous. Despite his brilliance, he is often criticized by fans and a few players. Draymond Green was one such player who objected to being compared with Gobert. The four-time All-Star said, “You keep mentioning me in the same sentence with him, we’re not alike.”

It looked like Rudy Gobert took the recent controversy involving Green as the perfect opportunity to give him a solid response. He deemed all the chatter as noise earlier. In February, the 30-year-old said, “The more these people try to discredit what I do or what my team does, it just means we’re doing something right.”
