Just like absolutely anyone, the NBA players also face issues with their work-life balance. They’re always on the go, moving back-and-forth from home court to away venues. The 82-game regular-season ensures they play at least once every three days. Managing all of this with a love interest; this is the story of the New York Knicks’ Austin Rivers.

The 6’3” player for the Knicks is more of a juggler these days, juggling between NBA games and his beautiful girlfriend. He has been having a good season so far, but this comes at the expense of him spending quality time with his girlfriend.

The 28-YO is dating Audreyana Michelle, a popular LA model. Recently, when the New York Knicks got a day off after beating the Atlanta Hawks 113-108, Austin wanted to utilize that time training on the court. This did not amuse his girlfriend, who clearly wanted him to spend that time with her.

She said, “Can I have one day to myself? *murmuring and imitating* You don’t wanna spend a fu–ing day with me… This is on f–ing Christmas, you did it on Christmas.”

To this, Austin responded by saying, “Baby, I’m trying to just get working. What’s the issue, baby I’m going to practice just for a couple of hours.” He later went to the practice and wrote on his IG post, “Real athletes know this problem. She mad I wanna go hoop on my day off… and we (squad) just got back from long trip. Lol and yes this is real… I pulled up, she hot right now.”

One can only make a wild guess how Audreyana might have reacted to this post once he had reached home after discarding her plea.

Austin Rivers is a happy man, on and off the court, for all the right reasons

Austin was given the nickname Subzero during his time with the Rockets. The Knicks acquired the services of Rivers only recently in a sign-and-trade deal with the Houston Rockets. Since then, he has played 3 games for the Knicks and has averaged 10 points, 1.7 rebs, and 2.7 assists at an impressive 57.1% field shooting and 46.2% three-point shooting.

He has certainly added strength to the Knicks’ bench alongside Immanuel Quickley and others. This must have given the likes of performers RJ Barrett and Julius Randle enough confidence in this new signing.

As far as his personal life is concerned, it did see a rough phase when he separated from his high-school girlfriend Brittany Hotard in June 2019. He even has a 2-YO son, Kayden James Rivers, with her.

Rivers and Audreyana seem to be happy together. She even put up an Instagram post with Rivers with the caption, “You inspire me so much with your drive and ambition. You work so hard and you love even harder. I’m so proud of the man you are today and the amazing father you are to little Kayden.”

This kind of support must definitely help Rivers put his mind on the right things, and that is showing in his performance.
