Over the past 24 hours, the Los Angeles Clippers have been running the city of LA. They just came off a thrilling win over their city rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, with the trade deadline closing in, they added a valuable player to their roster in a five-player trade. The move may not sit well with a sidelined Damian Lillard.

The Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers agreed to a five-player trade that sent Norman Powell to the Clippers.

Despite losing their two All-Stars, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers have done well this season. They are en route to be in the play-in tournament and are proving to be lethal. A lot of the credit goes to their coach, Ty Lue, who has done a tremendous job in transforming this season. And now he has help.

Clippers give Dame another reason to leave

Just a day after their thrilling win over the purple and gold, the Clippers are moving players around. They agreed to deal Eric Bledsoe, Juston Winslow, Keon Johnson, and a future pick. In exchange, they received Robert Covington and Norman Powell to strengthen their roster.

The Trail Blazers have not had the best time in the past couple of days. Their main star, Damian Lillard, sits injured. Now, they have lost one of their best scorers along with a defensive player. Powell has saved the Trail Blazers multiple times this season and has been scoring at a consistent level. As for Covington, he can be a great shooter and also have a serious defensive impact.

The Clippers are making strategic moves in bringing these players in. They already have scorers on their side with Morris Sr. as well as Reggie Jackson handling that department. However, Powell adds a new dimension to their offense, which suits Ty Lue perfectly. Moreover, their defense will look a lot more daunting now that Covington is here as well.
