LSU basketball star Angel Reese made quite the headlines after the Tigers won their first-ever National Championship earlier this year. The 21-year-old forward found herself under scrutiny after she made the ‘You can’t see me‘ gesture towards Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark in the Final. While there was a lot of outroar initially, the situation has calmed down now and Reese has been able to focus on other things. After signing major deals and seeing her valuation rise exponentially, Reese recently got more good news. Joining the likes of Serena Williams and Simone Biles on an iconic list, Reese’s star continues to rise.

The “Bayou Barbie” previously attended Maryland, but she eventually transferred to LSU after two years. Following her outstanding performance during the 2023 Finals, Reese quickly paved her way to stardom despite facing backlash from half of the sports world for ‘taunting’ Iowa’s Caitlin Clark.

Angel Reese signs a million-dollar worth deal

About a week after winning the championship, Angel Reese’s valuation skyrocketed to $1.3 million as per On3 Sports, making her one of the most popular rising basketball stars. It has only been a month since Reese became one of the highest-valued players in women’s basketball and her valuation has only increased since then. Adding to her fame, Reese has signed a deal with SI as their 2023 swimsuit model and will soon debut in their upcoming issue, according to Sports Illustrated.

This has boosted her NIL valuation from $1.3 million to $1.4 million in just a matter of a few weeks. Before becoming SI’s swimsuit model, Reese had deals with several big brands including Mercedes-Benz Baton Rouge, Amazon Merch on Demand, and McDonald’s.

In the last week of April, before Angel Reese joined hands with SI for the magazine shoot, college gymnast Olivia Dunne was announced as their newest addition. After the news broke out, Dunn and SI took to their Instagram handle to share a few snaps from her shoot.

When asked about the reason behind agreeing to the deal, Dunn replied, “The way that the brand has evolved and has become such a positive spotlight for women to tell their stories. And to spread awesome messages of being strong, s*xy and beautiful. I knew that was something I wanted to be part of.”
