Steph Curry is showing this season that he is still one of the best in the NBA. Despite losing Klay Thompson prior to the NBA season, Steph is showing that he can still get going when he wants. Curry is currently one of the front-runners in the MVP race. Curry revealed that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown remind him most of himself and Klay Thompson, the ‘Splash Brothers’.

Curry likes the duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum

Steph Curry spoke to the press ahead of the Warriors’ game against the Celtics. When asked about the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Curry had high praise for them. He noted how their experience playing together and building chemistry was very similar to himself, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. He said:

“For sure. You have two talented guys that have to figure out how to play off of each other. One guy has got it, the other guy has to stay engaged, and vice versa. You both elevate yourselves in that same process so. They both got thrown into the fire (like) with me, Klay and Draymond.” 

Curry added that the playoff experience both players got early in their career has helped them tremendously. He believes the two have found their footing as they have continued to play together. Curry also noted that there are many similarities between them and the ‘Splash Brothers’.

Curry added, “They played in the Eastern Conference Finals their first year when Jayson came on the scene. They were thrown into big stages early and they got that experience. I’m sure they benefitted from that, so just understanding how they can both evolve and get the most out of their individual talent. But put it together and balance it with the rest of the guys – definitely a lot of similarities there.”

The Brown-Tatum duo is the future of the Celtics

Brown and Tatum make up an exciting Boston Celtics core that the franchise is trying to build around. In the past three seasons, Tatum has been to two Eastern Conference finals, and Brown has been to one. Getting such a deep playoff experience at a young age can be very valuable for them as they go forward in their careers.
