The Los Angeles Lakers bagged their second victory in their five-game road-trip to the East. The Pacers were victims to a brutal LeBron James, who entered the matchup with all guns blazing. He had been suspended for one game against the Knicks because of striking Detroit Pistons Isaiah Stewart in the face and left him bleeding. It resulted in a chaotic fight, but this wasn’t the only severe injury we noticed.

The Los Angeles Lakers were missing Anthony Davis from the roster tonight. He was ruled out because of a non-COVID-related illness. But the purple and gold had it covered despite his absence, thanks to LeBron James.

When Chris Duarte made the game-tying three-pointer to send the game into overtime, Bron had no choice but to pull off play after play that led to their 124-116 victory. Although the match had several other highlights, like James kicking out hecklers, there was something else that the Pacers would have had to face severe consequences for, if it were more serious.

Minutes into the second quarter, a pass to Pacers’ Sabonis standing right under the bucket with Dwight Howard guarding him, led to him almost breaking his nose. As Domantas tried to find his way for a bucket, Howard struggled to take the ball from behind but smacked him in the nose instead. This could have almost led to him breaking it.

The Lakers are either on the receiving end of injuries or the ones who result in them. But apart from that, this victory has come as a big relief to fans, who were slowly losing title hopes for the organization.

Given, the team hasn’t had the ideal start to the season. But injury woes have been following them since last season. They’ve hardly had their roster in full health, which has really pulled them down. On top of that, Westbrook’s inability to step up in certain moments has also cost them heavily.

However, if AD gets well sooner and with Bron back, the Lakers should find their mojo once again. They are up against the Sacramento Kings next, a perfect opportunity to build some momentum.
