Johnson with his tweet was assuring the people of Baltimore that this issue was a top priority and that everybody in the public office is looking to solve the issue. He said, “I’m deeply saddened about yesterday’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore. This is not only devastating to the city but to our entire country. Cookie and I are praying fiercely for everyone affected by this tragedy, especially the family members that have lost their loved ones. My sincerest gratitude to those crew members on the ship that were able to make an emergency call and save so many additional lives from this devastation. Thank you to the divers, first responders, and medical officials for their dedication to find those unaccounted for. While it’s going to be a long recovery and rebuilding process, I know that President Biden, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott have been working together and will continue to work together to keep this a top priority given the importance of the Port of Baltimore to our global economy, supply chain, and all Baltimore residents.”
