Among them is Gabrielle Union, wife of NBA great Dwyane Wade. Just moments before Angel City’s match against the Orlando Pride, the 50-year-old actress was spotted happily posing for a selfie with her best friend. Angel City, a team that was initially announced with a majority female ownership group led by actress Natalie Portman, boasts an impressive list of investors from both the Hollywood and sports worlds.

Some of the notable names are Union, Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams, Christina Aguilera, Candace Parker, and more.

Robin Thede, a close friend of Union and an actress, accompanied the mother of four to the match. The 44-year-old actress shared several snapshots and highlights from the match, including a delightful selfie with Union.

While the presence of the celebs certainly added glamour to the match, unfortunately, the team couldn’t secure a victory.

Angel City faced a defeat against the Orlando Pride

Despite their efforts to dominate the match, Angel City couldn’t beat goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse, resulting in a 1-0 loss. This loss brought an end to their 11-match streak in league and Challenge Cup competitions. The standout performer of the match was Brazilian player Adriana, who delivered a remarkable performance.

The Pride managed to score in the 22nd minute, putting Angel City on the back foot. With this outcome, Orlando reached 25 points and Angel City found themselves in 9th place with only two games left. This leaves Angel City facing significant challenges as they strive to make a comeback.
