It wasn’t enough they were hard on each other on the court. Now Reggie Miller and Shaquille O’Neal are butting heads in the broadcasting booth too. A singular moment during the recent Miami Heat game led to an argument between the two legends. And Miller took a jab at the most dominant center in NBA history.

Shaq’s been part of the Heat Culture and today he was calling the game alongside Miller. This made for an argumentative but entertaining combination, rife with basketball knowledge and some light ribbing.

The game between Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks was under way but it was the clash in the TNT studio that proved to be more intense. Shaquille O’Neal had a comment on Josh Richardson’s play, claiming that harping on the hand is part of the shooting foul rule. Reggie Miller was having none of that.

You’ve gone soft,” Miller taunted Shaq. “You used to be the baddest man on the planet. And now you’re saying ‘hand is part of the ball?'”

Shaq retorted, “He grabbed his hand Reggie, stop it.” Richardson still managed to score consecutively in the third quarter.

Let’s not forget that Big Diesel was part of the Heat Culture when he won his fourth championship ring by ‘not being soft.’ He’s in the building now and his former team couldn’t let him go without giving him his own #32 Heat Culture jersey.

They’re arguing over a brief on-court altercation between Richardson and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Richardson was dominant in the game after bouncing back from an injury. However, it wasn’t enough for him to end it positively for his team. Heat lost 124-131 to the Bucks in a very intense game.

While Miami legend Shaq is in the house, he might not be too salty about this one. He might be winning a wager after all.

Shaq is softer on the Bucks

Contrary to what Reggie Miller claims, Shaq’s going hard at getting into the physique he boasted when he won the championship in Miami. But this season he’s been leaning towards one team.

O’Neal is so impressed by the Damian Lillard-Giannis Antetokounmpo combination, that he predicts the Bucks are poised to win the 2023-24 NBA championship. So you can guess why he’s feeling protective about Giannis today.

I was 7 when I saw 'Space Jam' but didn't know till the third rewatch the lead actor is actually a living basketball legend. It was while studying journalism that my friend would go on about the Warriors from Golden State. Keen on athletes' personas outside their arenas, it was Stephen Curry's confidence and philanthropy that drew me to follow the news on NBA pros and explore sports media.
