All eyes will be on a 199-year old when New Orleans Pelicans face San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Being considered as the best prospect in the NBA since LeBron James in 2003, Zion Williamson is expected to make his debut on Wednesday. He showed glimpses of his ability in the pre-season where he averaged 23.3 points per game in four preseason outings while shooting 71.4%.
Apart from Zion, the Pelicans have had a few more injuries to worry about this season. After the departure of Anthony Davis in the pre-season, the Pelicans have struggled this season. They are currently 12th in the Western Conference 17-27.
Their Wednesday’s opponents, San Antonio Spurs, are one of the teams that have been consistently making it to the playoffs in the recent times. But this season, they have struggled for consistency. They are currently ninth in the Western Conference with a win-loss record of 19-23. DeMar DeRozan has been a consistent performer for them, averaging 22.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
