The Los Angeles Lakers have got off to an excellent start in their first two NBA preseason games. Up against their rivals who had a full-strength team, the Lakers beat them without having LeBron James and Anthony Davis, that too, in both games.

Now, Coach Frank Vogel has announced that both AD and LeBron will feature in the final two games. He said:

“They’ve been participating heavily in practice and they’re going to sit these two first preseason games out and hopefully play in the final two preseason games,” Vogel said after the Lakers’ second game. “Play some in-game three and more in-game four to get as close as possible to a dress rehearsal for the regular season.”

Despite them sitting out, the Lakers have had no problems so far. Youngster Talen Horton-Tucker has stolen the show, with back-to-back impressive performances. So with Davis and James, the Lakers will just get better.

Will Anthony Davis and LeBron James gel with the Lakers’ new arrivals?

Dennis Schroder and Wesley Matthews only played the first game against the Clippers and looked bright. On the other hand, Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell played both games and left fans impressed.

Gasol might be old and slow now, but his leadership and vision were on full display. He held up the ball and guided his teammates to make the cut and then laid out the perfect pass to them. So this passing will be more dangerous when Davis or LeBron are on the court.

Harrell was against his former team in the games, but he showed no mercy. He showed excellent hustle on the glass and also had some impressive post scoring. His screen assists and pick and rolls are going to be fun to watch with LeBron and the other quick guards.

LeBron and AD already have one of the best chemistry on-court, and the preseason games will be a chance for fans to watch that again. They will take it slow and not exert too much, but their arrivals make a preseason game into a must-watch game. This could be the start of another successful campaign for the Lakers.
