“Best Player on the Floor”: Former Golden State Warriors Player Reveals His High Hopes From Andrew Wiggins

By 4 months ago

Current Golden State Warriors player Andrew Wiggins was supposed to be the next big thing in the NBA after going no.1 in the 2014 NBA draft. But unfortunately for Wiggins, LeBron James announced his return to Cleveland the same year.

To build an instant championship roster around James, Wiggins was traded to Minnesota and Kevin Love took his spot with the Cavs. While Love won a championship with the Cavs, Wiggins struggled to reach his projected stardom.

After investing almost six seasons in Wiggins, Wolves decided it was time to move on from Wiggins. As a result, he was sent to San Francisco earlier this season in exchange for D’Angelo Russell.

Is Andrew Wiggins the perfect piece for the Golden State Warriors?

The trade might seem a little rash for GSW. But the former Bay Area player is confident in Wiggins and believes he is the perfect fit for the team.

Andrew Wiggins, it’s a great fit for him because of the way he plays, his personality. He’s a quiet laid-back guy, but he has No. 1 talent physically, athletically. He can off on any given night and be the best player on the floor. He’s not really that outspoke and comfortable being the No. 1 guy, so here is the best place,” said Mullin.

“it’s a great fit for him and it’s also a great fit for the Warriors. They’ve got the star power in Steph and Klay. They’ve got the leadership and competitiveness and the heartbeat of the team in Draymond. He’s a perfect fit with those guys. I would give that time. I like that mix is and I think it puts less pressure on this draft and acquiring whatever you do moving forward.”

Wiggins is only 24 years old right now and has the talent to revamp his career. He has only played 12 games for the Dubs but has looked a completely different player. Moreover, he doesn’t have to worry about being the no.1 scoring option with the Warriors.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson can easily take the scoring burden off of him. With Draymond Green being the defensive force for the team, Wiggins can focus on playing with no added pressure.
