The Golden State Warriors ruled over the league for the second half of the 2010s decade. However, things have changed for the Dubs since the 2019 NBA Finals.

In the Finals, they lost Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant to serious injuries which resulted in a Finals defeat. Additionally, Durant left the team in the free agency, but Warriors fans were placing their trust in Klay to return and join Steph Curry to make a grand comeback in the 2020-21 NBA season.

But the Dub Nation can’t catch a break, Klay suffered another gruesome injury which will keep him sidelined for the entire season. NBA analyst Max Kellerman believes this is the end of dynasty years for Golden State.

Yes it is. It is the end of the dynasty,” said Kellerman. “…Steph Curry might win another championship, and he might even do it with Draymond.

“Because the Golden State Warriors have a great owner in Lacob, who is willing to spend hundreds of millions of dollars in luxury tax.

“… And Bob Myers, he has been a great GM, just look what the Warriors had done even before they ever signed Kevin Durant. Steph Curry wasn’t the #1 overall pick. Klay Thompson wasn’t a top pick. Draymond Green was a second-round pick.

“… But those guys put them together. You know, and that was the engine if you really want to talk about what the Golden State Warriors were about.

“Yes, the splash brothers. I would say one it was Steph, two it was Dray… and then three it was Klay. Steph’s crime partner in terms of shooting and scoring and also plays an excellent defender.”

However, after Klay’s departure, the shooting apart from Curry could cause them problems down the line.

Heading to the 2020-21 NBA season, Curry’s second in command in Klay would be out. Moreover, it will severely impact how the Warriors will strategize, as they are known for their breathtaking shooting ability. But with Klay out of the lineup, their arsenal has taken a huge hit.

“Oh, they traded for Kelly Oubre, he’s not good. He’s like a, you know he could play ball, he’s a rotation piece, he’s in a good year, maybe an average starter, but he ain’t a shooter.

…And who else? Wiggins is not a shooter. Paschall is not a shooter. I just named three guys we’re gonna get lot of minutes, no shooters, Draymond greens, not a shooter that’s four, Wiseman’s not a shooter. That’s five.”
