The Atlanta Hawks made some big moves in free agency and in the trade period. They replenished their roster and look to return to form.
The Hawks wanted to build around star point-guard Trae Young. The former All-Star will be the center-piece of the Hawks roster. In an effort to help Trae Young, the Hawks signed Rajon Rondo as the backup point guard.
In addition to Rondo, the Hawks acquired Danilo Gallinari from OKC, Tony Snell, Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Sacramento Kings, and various other players through trades and free agency signings.

The Hawks have made strides through their work in the postseason and will look to secure a playoff spot this season.
Former NBA Champion Channing Frye spoke to NBA TV about the Hawks’ postseason moves. Frye was complementary of the moves they’ve made, and the culture they are building. He said:
“I really look at it as the Hawks being super aggressive. I like what they’re doing. They’re trying to build their culture. The Hawks were not a good team last year, but now they’re putting guys around him that are getting checked. He (Bogdanovic) has proven that he can play and we’ll see what he can do with this bigger role.”

Frye suggested that while they seem shy in the power forward position, the Hawks have a strong roster. He said, “Looking at this roster, I really like it. I do think they have issues at the four position with Gallinari moving to that. Other than that they’re young, they have length.”
Frye praised the Hawks’ for creating a culture of winning and talked about the new players they acquired. He said, “They’re trying to create a culture of winning there and by bringing in Rondo and Tony Snell has been a pro his whole career, Capela is going to get you 10 and 10 automatic, and Gallinari is proven to be able to score on a bunch of different teams.”
