For the world fighting against the dreaded coronavirus pandemic, Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis shared an inspirational message on Saturday.
He posted a photo on Twitter that read: “If you ever dreamed of playing for the millions around the world, now is your chance. Play inside, play for the world.”
The photo had a Nike logo on it and it might well have been a promotional post from Davis, but it did contain a message for the world. “Now more than ever, we are one team,” his caption for the photo read.
The world is currently in the increasing threat of the coronavirus. NBA is among many sporting events that are currently suspended in the world. During these tough times, it is important for people to act accordingly. Davis’ message is indeed worth considering.
Before the league was suspended, Davis’ performances have helped the Los Angeles Lakers stay on top of the Western Conference. He along, with LeBron James, has been leading the Lakers this season.
Davis has been one of the best players in the league. He has contributed on both ends of the court. His defensive performances have made him a contender for the Defensive Player of the Year award. His fellow player in the NBA, Ben Simmons, felt the same. In fact, regarded Davis higher than two-time DPOY winner Rudy Gobert.
During a video game stream on Wednesday night, Simmons shifted his attention to the NBA and started talking about the candidates for the DPOY. The 23-year old felt that Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis is a top defender.
“I look at AD and I think he’s a better defender than Gobert because he can defend guards at times. Look, I play ball, I’m looking at guys who can guard 1 through 5, man. You can’t say you’re one of the best defenders if you’re not guarding every position,” Simmons said.
