The biggest mystery of this offseason has been around Bam Adebayo’s contract and whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will enter free agency or get an extension with the Milwaukee Bucks.
While one of these mysteries has come undone, there is still very less we know about what Giannis will decide to do.
Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks have had two very different runs in the Playoffs last season. While the Miami Heat went against all odds and won the Eastern Conference title, they kicked the Bucks out of the race on their way there.
To the Bucks’ horror, it was speculated that if Giannis didn’t get a title this time, he would find his way to it with another team. Now the offseason has set in, and we’re still unsure about Giannis’ plans.
On top of that, the Miami Heat are one team that has shown immense interest in the superstar. So much so that they had kept Bam’s extension on hold in a bid to save up cap space for when the Greek Freak entered free agency in 2021.
But the Heat couldn’t make Bam wait anymore. He was an integral part of the Heat’s success last season. With the entire 2017 Draft class getting their rookie extensions, Bam was the only one left. But with all that taken care of, what will happen on the Antetokounmpo front?
Now that the Heat’s hands are financially tied, getting Giannis will be tougher. Since Adebayo and Giannis have the same agent, does Bam know what the Greek Freak is up to?
Ira Winderman posted on Twitter, “Bam Adebayo on Giannis Antetokounmpo (the two share the same agent), “I don’t know his intentions. I don’t know what he is planning to do. But, as you can see, a lot of people are waiting to see what his move is.”
The Bucks are doing all they can this offseason to build a better roster for Antetokounmpo. Acquiring Jrue Holiday is an effort to accomplish the same. Their franchise’s fate depends on where Giannis lands up.
What do you think Giannis will do?
