Michael Jordan’s daughter, Jasmine Jordan, talked about the lesser-known side of Michael Jordan. Jordan is among those NBA stars who are not very active on social media. In an interview with ABC audio, Jasmine said her father wasn’t a big fan of social media.
“I can never imagine him being on Twitter. I can’t imagine him on IG or anything like that,” she said as per Good Morning America.
With ESPN releasing The Last Dance, people have relived his extremely successful NBA career. Starting his NBA career in 1984, Jordan was influential in popularizing NBA across the world. He led the Bulls to two three-peats, first with titles in 1991, 1992, and 1993, and later in 1996, 1997, and 1998.
The Last Dance talked about various aspects of his professional career with a focus on his final season with the Bulls. While the Last Dance has been successful in showing his professional life, Jasmine’s interview gave a little peek into Michael Jordan as a family man.
For Jasmine, a fun moment with her dad generally starts with music. “When you get him in his natural element of just being that fun and rambunctious dad, it’s with music,” she revealed. “He loves music.”
“Music is just another aspect that truly allows him to be himself and connect and really just have fun and let his hair down. Or lack thereof. But we love music together.”
Jasmine recalled how her father often listened to music before it hit the stands.
“I remember when I was younger, he used to always get everyone CDs before they came out,” she said. “I never understood why. Like, why are you listening to Johnny Gill’s album before anybody has it? It was mind-boggling.”
Jasmine was born to Michael and Juanita Vanoy when they were together, He has two more children with Vanoy- Jeffrey and Marcus. They divorced in December 2006. The Chicago Bulls legend married again in 2011 to Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto. Three years later, the couple gave birth to twins- Victoria and Ysabel. Michael Jordan became a grandfather when Jasmine gave birth to a son last year.
