“You Look Stupid”: Stephen Curry Gives a Firm Reply to LeBron James’ Former Manager Who Mocked His Defense

Stephen Curry responded to LeBron James‘ former manager Maverick Carter’s remarks of saying he was not a very good defender. Carter made those comments on the Golden State Warriors star in a discussion with Draymond Green and Paul Rivera over Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance.

Carter drew parallels to the dominant Chicago Bulls team with Jordan and the current Warriors team. He said that Jordan was extremely good in what he did but he still needed support from the likes of Scottie Pippen. Carter felt that when someone is extremely good at one aspect in the game, he might be behind in some other aspect and that is where the teammates come in.

Like Jordan had Pippen and others then, Carter felt Warriors’ Curry needs defensive support from the likes of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. While acknowledging Curry’s shooting skills, Carter had said that he was not as good in defence.

Steph is the greatest shooter in the world. When that motherf**er gets rolling you can’t stop him. He can hit any shot from anywhere on the court. And he’s actually really good off the ball on defense — he’s a good steal artist. But he needs Klay (Thompson) and Draymond to kind of cover everything else so he can do his thing,” he said.

Stephen Curry responds to Maverick Carter

Curry, a two-time MVP, responding to Carter’s comments but didn’t seem to take it too seriously.

“You doing something great no matter what it is, they’re coming for you,” Curry said. “People who actually know what they’re talking about they’re gonna speak facts & truth.”

He said that there would be people who would hate him even after he retires but he doens’t take it too seriously.

Curry has been playing in the NBA since 2009 for the Warriors. He has indeed achieved great success winning three titles with his team. He has been an All-Star 2014 but for the current season where he was out with an injury. With him and Thompson out with injury and Durant leaving them prior to the season, the Warriors had miserable 2019/20 season.
