The Denver Broncos lost to the Houston Texans in a close matchup. The 6-6 team is second in the AFC West standings after a 17-22 loss against the Houston team. The Broncos have been going strong for a month, but seems they will halt after this game. Russell Wilson showed us a subpar performance in this game as CJ Stroud ran laps around the Broncos.

Wilson appeared in the presser after the game and was pretty candid about why the Denver team lost against the Texans. Wilson was sacked and intercepted more than he should have, and as for CJ Stroud, the rookie broke more records as of this game, and the NFL was not shy of giving him a shoutout.

Right off the bat, Wilson was asked about what happened on the last play. Wilson mentioned how he was trying to avoid getting sacked because the time was running out, and he was trying to get the ball to Lucas Krull. Wilson said that Krull “made a play,” but somehow, the Broncos still succumbed to the Houston Texans. Wilson mentioned how the team tried to win these close games, but this time, they couldn’t.

Wilson seemed pretty confident in the team and its defense despite all of this. But offensively, they couldn’t do much, as Russell Wilson had three sacks and three interceptions in the game. He only passed for a dismal 186 yards, completing only 15 of his 26 passes. He came out with a pass completion rate of 57.7% and a QBR of 20.4. Though Wilson had one TD, the Broncos couldn’t do much against the Texans and their QB CJ Stroud.

Stroud put up exceptional numbers, proving why he was eligible for the MVP conversation, and broke a couple of records following this game — just the usual CJ Stroud things.

CJ Stroud leads all the so-called “MVP QBs” like Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Lamar Jackson. So far, in the 12 games he has played, he has passed for 3,540 yards and has 20 touchdowns with only five interceptions. He is well on his way to being the rookie of the year and there is a real chance of him getting inducted into the MVP conversation this year.

Stroud proved that getting sacked doesn’t matter. He was sacked five times and was intercepted once. He still squeezed out 274 passing yards and connected 16 out of his 27 passes. Also, he had a single touchdown in the game. In the last three games Stroud played, he passed for 874 yards, and these numbers speak volumes for themselves.
