The 60-year-old Harbaugh served as a quarterback for the Wolverines from 1982 to 1986. Later, he went to the now LA side, spending two years with the team from 1999 to 2000. Now, he is back with the Chargers after a long 24-year gap, but with a new head coach role. Per reports, Harbaugh has inked a $90-million contract with the team.
Furthermore, it was also reported that Harbaugh was the first choice for the Chargers, and so was the team for him. As the coach wanted to jump back in the NFL rankings, this will be a golden opportunity for him, especially from his history with the side.

After working as the QB coach for the Raiders for two seasons, Jim Harbaugh’s coaching career took off at San Diego for three seasons, before becoming the HC at Stanford. In Palo Alto, Harbaugh led Stanford to success with a 29-21 record, including their first Bowl victory in 2010. He then moved to the NFL, taking the 49ers to the 2012 Super Bowl. After a power struggle, he returned to coach at Michigan, winning the national championship recently.
With an impressive coaching record in both college and the pros, Harbaugh is known for building strong, old-school teams while adapting to modern strategies. The Chargers’ decision to hire him reflects their desire for an experienced and successful coach. However, challenges lie ahead, including the need for a general manager, adjustments to the coaching staff, and uncertainties surrounding Harbaugh’s discipline.
