The Kansas City Chiefs were expected to sweep the series against their arch-rivals Las Vegas Raiders on the Christmas Day matchup. But expectations flew out of the window as the game started and their heated divisional rivalry resumed. After the performance, Legendary sportscaster Rob Parker was extremely disappointed with the Chiefs and their superstar Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs lost 14-20 at the Arrowhead Stadium, their home. Though the squad was not up to the mark on both sides of the ball, Parker wants Mahomes to take some of the blame on his shoulders as well.

“The Kansas City Chiefs I mean horrific, horrific loss”, said Parker being animated. He’s not entirely wrong, as the defending champions lost to a team that has been facing all kinds of problems. Due to injuries, they even had their starting QB to their HC replaced and yet the Raiders came out on top.

Offensively the Chiefs squad looked underconfident whenever going up the pitch. “Patrick Mahomes got to get some blame, he had a fumble six and a pick six back-to-back”, said Parker. The 59-year-old is referring to the run of the play when Mahomes got intercepted by the Raiders defense.

“Can we at least acknowledge he’s not playing well, since he’s not playing well at all”, said Parker continuing the criticism of the 29-year-old. However, this loss is a wake-up call for the reigning champions and Mahomes understands the situation he is in.

“Clean it up, I mean that’s with two games left you have to do it and if we don’t we’ll be going home”, said Mahomes after the game. Despite losing the last game, the Chiefs are still the favorites to qualify for the playoffs from the AFC West.

Before the game, they had a probability of 99% of making the playoffs, the loss didn’t hurt their chances much, even if it wounded their pride. Currently, they have a 95% chance, but as Mahomes pointed out, they need to be focused on their remaining 2 games in the regular season.
