Brittany Mahomes is opening up about her skincare journey with brutal honesty. Post a glamorous family photo session with her husband and their two young ones, Brittany chose to strip away from the facade of makeup, revealing her personal challenges against the backdrop of an otherwise flawless reality of her public appearances. She started off with a “just here for your daily reality check.”

Brittany, who had once graced Sports Illustrated as a swimsuit model, is currently battling with acne. Her recent Instagram stories saw her posting a boomerang video of herself smiling away at the camera. The caption that followed the reality check alert was anything but joyful.

Brittany noted, “Actually really struggling with my skin right now trying to figure out why it’s just breaking out all around my mouth like I’m allergic to something, but can not figure it out.” 

As evident, the mystery behind the sudden breakouts has left her confused. And she even asked her followers for help. “It will randomly just flare up and then start to get better. I have no idea what’s causing it. I feel like I’ve changed everything that I use, and I have no idea. So if anyone does know or has recommendations, please let me know.”

As it turns out, she suspects that she has Perioral Dermatitis. Armed with this knowledge, she confirmed that she will be seeking professional help all the while asking for tips from her followers. Well, asked and answered! She reached out thanking her followers,

“To conclude today I’m pretty sure I have Perioral Dermatitis. I am going to a dermatologist tomorrow to figure out what I need to do. Thank you guys for all the recommendations. I truly appreciate it!!!”

Talking about star wives joining the transparency trend, Hailey Beiber certainly comes to mind. In 2020, Hailey posted an Instagram story of an eventual flare-up to convince her followers to always consult medical experts whenever inflected with a stubborn skin condition. She had then posted, “Since I like to be as transparent as possible about my skin: I have something called perioral dermatitis which I’ve had for a few years now.”

Perioral dermatitis is an inflammatory (benign) skin condition that frequently affects young female adults. Some common symptoms include acne papules/blemishes (commonly known as pimples), dry and flaky skin, itching, and mild burning sensations around the mouth and nasal areas. Hailey had then confirmed along similar lines, “It also took me getting the proper diagnosis from a dermatologist after stubbornly trying to treat it myself. Sometimes it gets so irritated only a prescription cream will calm it down. Self-diagnosing is a no-no.”

Steroid creams, oral steroids, cosmetic creams, etc. are some of the common causes of the condition. In fact, in the words of Hailey, “Some things I noticed that trigger it: trying a new product, a product that’s too harsh, weather, masks, sometimes certain SPF.”

Brittany’s recent Instagram stories have never been so relatable. While that is true, as a former fitness trainer, she often turns her health ordeals into a clarion call for wellness. High on self-love, Brittany, earlier this month, decided to lament her followers with knowledge based on personal experience.

Brittany urges women to take care of their pelvic floor

A few weeks ago, she emphasized the significance of pelvic floor care post-motherhood. In a heartfelt message to her digital community, she shared her own challenging encounter with a fractured back. The details surrounding the cause remain undisclosed though.

Taking to Instagram, the co-owner of Kansas City Current, Brittany shared some sage advice, “Just your daily reminder: Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor,” paired with a reflective selfie. Her message, underscored by her own experience, served as a gentle nudge towards self-care, “Seriously. From: A girl with a fractured back 🙂.”
