NFL is set for a historic Super Bowl LVIII on February 11 as the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers face after a 4-year gap. While the 49ers are the favorites, Chief’s star player Travis Kelce is all but excited for the high-octane clash between two of the strongest AFC and NFC teams. ‘Ain’t no jitters for me, baby. I’m excited for this one, man’, were the words of the two-time Super Bowl winner. But what is the secret behind his confidence and, apparently, success? How about pre-game meals?

To be at their best, athletes need to have fuel, comfort, hydration, and nutrition. And pre-game meals are designed to cater to those requirements only. And as it seems, Chiefs tight end Kelce’s one secret to success is a good pre-game meal, and he has the best one.

It’s been a decade and Travis Kelce is still one of the best tight ends in the NFL, but what gets him going before a game? Ever since being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, Kelce has eaten ‘french toast’ as a pre-game meal, which also led him to enter the 2010 NFL All-Decade team. He revealed the secret in 2021 when actor Rob Riggle, who is a Kansas native and proud Chiefs fan, asked Kelce to share his favorite pregame meal on Twitter.

Later in 2022, he confirmed the same in an interview with Inside Hook. “Every pregame meal has been French toast and strawberries since I’ve been on the Chiefs,” the 35-year-old revealed. French toast no doubt is a delicious meal, but the other reason it’s Kelce’s favorite is because it gears him up for the game. “On game day, you want to carb up, so I have the energy I need for the game. French toast [gets] my blood sugar going [and gets] some carbs in”, the NFL icon explained in another interview. But do you know that he has also launched his own precooked meals brand?

Travis Kelce recently launched his own pre-cooked meals brand named ‘Travis Kelce’s Kitchen’. The brand opened with five individual entries inspired by his hometown of Kansas City and its famous barbecue. Bacon Mac and cheese and seasoned Sliced Brisket can be ordered, along with three other barbeque special dishes.

While pre-game meals have been one reason for the swiftie-fan favorite’s success, the credit also goes to his diet manager and friend Kumar Ferguson, who also owns KuEatsFresh. “Whatever he’s feeding me is keeping me young“, Kelce thanked him in a recent interview. As the Chiefs square off against the 49ers, all eyes will be on the two-time Super Bowl winner.
