Sixty-four years of endless pain and suffering. That’s how long the Bills Mafia have waited to bring home a Lombardi. However, former Pittsburgh Steelers CB might have a solution to end that drought. Recently, on Get Up, Ryan Clark turned some heads when asked which team should be in the mix for getting Barkley’s service. He said a team based in Western New York would fit the bill perfectly if Saquon becomes available.

Saquon on the trade block?

When asked by mediapersons about his desire to leave New York, the 2018 1st-round pick made his intentions crystal clear, “I don’t want to get traded.” He added, “I would love to be here (New York).” Despite his rejection, the former No.2 overall’s situation has garnered attention because the trade deadline is just a few days away. In one such instance, ESPN’s Get Up host Mike Greenberg asked the crew members which teams should call for the Penn State graduate’s service. One analyst thinks Brandon Beane and Co. should be the first one calling.

Ryan Clark made it very clear as to why the Bills should be the frontrunner to get Barkley sweepstakes. “You add him with a guy like Josh Allen, you totally change the dynamic of that offense.” He added how Buffalo got to see Barkley’s ability firsthand when they faced the Giants on a Sunday Night thriller. Furthermore, the SB XLIII winner believes that Barkley’s addition would make it harder for opposing defenses to figure out the Bills offense weekly.

Bills running game woes

Sean McDermott and the boys rely too heavily on Josh Allen, and there might be no other QB except Lamar, who runs as much as Allen. This has been evident for several years when Allen would be the leading rusher on the team. That is not a formula for success, and it has always come back to bite them in the playoffs. When the Bills can run the ball, their offense becomes unstoppable. It opens up the whole field for No.17 and Co.

For the past few years, it seems like opposing defenses have no respect for the Bills run game. And without any run game, everything fell back on their QB, who has to play hero ball to save his team, which makes him susceptible to errant throws and decisions. This year, it seems like the Bills have at least some sort of run game, but is it enough? If Saquon becomes available, the Bills Mafia better hope their GM does everything he can to land him in Western New York.
