Tom Brady has been unhappy with the recent trends and rules in the NFL, and he’s not shy about sharing his opinions on the same. On the latest episode of the “Let’s Go” podcast, he pointed out the changes in the way quarterbacks play now compared to before. It was regarding the change of mindset and the plays that current QBs are opting for today. The NFL GOAT also name-dropped Patrick Mahomes who also made a different play.

In a discussion with Lawrence Taylor, Brady expanded on how his play style differed from Mahomes’. Days after calling “NFL mediocre” and riling up the entire footballing world, the GOAT has now come up with the changes in the QB playing position.

Speaking on the recent episode of the “Let’s Go” podcast, the former QB highlighted one thing that QBs need to follow. He said- “There was a hit on Patrick Mahomes last night where he was running out of bounds. And the quarterbacks need to learn how to throw the ball away. They need to learn how to read deep ends.”

The Chiefs just lost to the Packers 27-19. After the loss, fans seemed to blame the referees for biased calls, but Mahomes himself shared that he doesn’t blame the officials. He told reporters he would rather have NFL officials let players make a little contact than throw a penalty flag every time they bump into each other. This further cemented Brady’s point that rules and coaching need to change in the NFL.

Tom Brady is a revered figure in the NFL, having dominated the league for almost two decades. His statements calling the NFL “mediocre” were supported by some people, while others criticized the same. Brady shared his views on the current state of the league on the Stephen A. Smith show, saying, “I think there’s a lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL, I don’t see the excellence that I saw in the past.”

When asked about the exact reason for lackluster performances and dwindling interest in the league, Brady provided his reasons. He said, “I think the coaching isn’t as good as it was. I don’t think the development of young players is as good as it was”, adding, “allowed a lot of bad habits to get into the actual performance of the game”.
